Jay first learned how to play mahjong back in 2024. They went all in from the very first game, and spent the following year attending and volunteering at mahjong events around Los Angeles.

Common Ground began as one of Jay’s spontaneous ideas to play mahjong with some friends in a parking lot. What once began on a whim has now evolved into a means to build and invest in local communities through the beloved game of mahjong.
